The method of visual correlation between the extracted system camera and sensor (fusion) data and a very precise 3D accident scene image leads to a significant improvement in the accuracy and informative value of a scientifically based accident reconstruction and demonstrates the necessity of standardized recording of system camera data within the framework of a future obligatory EDR (Event Data Recorder). The integration of artificial intelligence/computer vision methods such as SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) and other AI-Tool promises a boost to innovation.
