Collision velocity is one of the essential parameters in reconstruction of accidents involving pedestrians. So far its calculation was possible due to the wheels locking traces. However, since the introduction of ABS the traces either do not occur or are very difficult to reveal. The article presents the results of a research project the subject of which was collision velocity in reference to vehicle damage. The work was based on real accidents whose traces were secured.
